When you look at it this way, we could all use a few more fruits and vegetables and a bit less salt. If you want to be extra proactive about your diet, be sure to get plenty of probiotics and fiber. Avoiding smoking and excessive drinking will help your body stay strong and prevent disease.

  • Get plenty of sleep.

The amount of sleep you get plays a key role in healing and repairing your heart and blood vessels. Getting sufficient sleep can also improve concentration and productivity and reduce risk of heart disease and stroke. One of the most attractive qualities about getting enough sleep is that it helps regulate your metabolism. Even if you are taking all of the right steps towards feeling confidence in your body, if you are not getting the amount of sleep you need, you probably won’t see the full extent of the results. In terms of how much sleep you need, the amount can vary from individual to individual, but the National Sleep Foundation recommends that healthy adults get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep every night.
